Dawn of Light

John Aitken has been practising his mediumship since 1994. From a very young age John knew he was different from any
other child of the same age, but he was unsure of what made him feel this way. As John went into his teenage years he was
not only aware of spirit, he was communicating with the other side. At the age of 19, John was completely aware that he
was supposed to take his spiritual abilities further. It was at this time that John took his next step by learning to meditate.
This further enhanced his awareness of what was happening to him spiritually and it was only then he began to understand
what he was experiencing at the age of 5.

The next stage of learning was to control his level of spiritual awareness, and he was extremely lucky to have the
opportunity to work within different surroundings. Sometimes John worked at his local church in East Lothian and other
times he worked within churches in Edinburgh. In 2003, John was asked to take over the Dawn of Light Spiritualist Church
as President. John took over with great joy, and through time he took over the development class which allowed him to
provide an understanding of what was happening to them. In 2004, John attended the Arthur Findlay College in order to
progress his knowledge further. During this time he developed a great interest in trance and physical mediumship. This lead
to John sitting weekly which further enhanced his knowledge of trance and allowed him to have a greater understanding.
John continues to sit weekly as he thrives to learn more about the spirit world and their work.

John has been very lucky to see many international mediums demonstrate their trance mediumship and he has also
attended a few séances. John felt that the latter of the séances he attended provided the strongest evidence with direct
voice, table tilting, lifting the table to the ceiling, trumpets in the air and also an apport of a rose at the end of the séance
which was in day light for everyone to see. The overall knowledge and understanding that John has gained over the years
has allowed him to teach in many areas including relaxation, psychic and mediumistic awareness, and the learning of
altered states of the mind. John has practised healing throughout the years in which he has endeavoured a variety of
different healing therapies. As a result John has realised that he is more passionate of spiritual healing, and recent trance
healing has been effective..
